God Remains Sovereign
OCF IS A VITAL INSTRUMENT FOR HIS PURPOSES

13 September 2001

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Many of you have called or written via e-mail to ask about OCF members who work in the Pentagon. At this time we do not know of any OCF people who were casualties in the attack on 11 September. Praise God for His mercy and protection.

In the aftermath of the terrorist attack on America, I remind every member and supporter of OCF that God remains in charge. Meditate on Psalm 90, where Moses recounts the hardships of the Israelites and the brevity of life, but reflects on the promises of an almighty God. America is hurting. Our nation will ask our military to perform at its highest level and family needs will be tremendous. The need for every OCF member to reach out and minister in the name of Jesus Christ will be greater than any time since World War II. Hardship begets opportunity but perhaps this is God’s time for revival and a return to Him across America. In the days ahead, each of us should be sensitive to needs, adjust to available ministry opportunities, carry out military duties with our best professional efforts, and continue to pray for the hurting and all who are called upon to respond to this tragedy. God is sovereign and our hope is eternal through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Standing on the rock,

BRUCE L. FISTER,
Lt. Gen. USAF, Ret.,
OCF Executive Director

"May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us . . ." Psalm 90:17
